About [Jewellery & Industrial Metals (JIM)]

A wealth of applications. Umicore is an expert in developing products and processes based on precious metals such as gold, silver and platinum. These materials enable our customers to make fine jewellery, coins, high-purity glass and industrial catalysts. Umicore also enables the sustainable and responsible sourcing of these metals and provides closed-loop recycling for our customers. To make the most of these materials we cannot stand still. We need to find new ways to do things, discover new solutions and develop new processes. Which is where you come in.

What you will be doing

The sales manager is responsible for achieving his/her own targets and contributes to the growth of Umicore and PEM’s target. Commit to continue business growth in line with the Umicore’s purpose and Let ’s go for zero.

The sales manager mainly work for “platinum equipment for glass melting industry” and that there will be a close communication with Umicore Hanau.

The sales manager, in 1 – 3 years, shall be responsible for :

  1. Planning clear business targets in line with Umicore's policy
  2. Planning and implementation of specific actions to achieve the target
  3. Daily sales activities for short-term and long-term business growth
  4. Regular update of Market intelligence, and proactive supply
  5. Commitment to governance and compliance
  6. Resource allocation planning
  7. Team leading (self + back office)
  8. Self-development

  • Can work independently while regularly reporting to supervisor of the sales manager
  • Openness, especially it needs to be open to share less positive things
  • Needs to be quickly adopted him/her-self into a new or a changing environment
  • Take initiative by him/her-self for executing business and for tackling problem(s)
  • Takes ownership for the task assigned to him/her : hands-on mind
  • To be decisive
  • Stress resistant
  • Capable of dealing with the sometimes conflicting interest between customers and Umicore
  • Language : Japanese - Native or Native level
  •                     English - Business Level
